Core Drilling

Core Drilling is a quick and clean process whose applications have greatly expanded in recent years. Special equipment enables the drilling of holes 30" in diameter or larger. Our core drilling techniques and know how make it possible for us to drill holes with minimal Wall Sawing clean up, which is greatly appreciated by our customers. Some of the common core drill applications are: large holes, small holes, drilling on finished jobs, new construction and holes in walls.

Wall Sawing

Wall Sawing is the term used for sawing vertical walls. Wall saw machines bolt solidly to the surface they cut, allowing the machine to operate at any angle or in any position for precise cutting. The cutting of openings in concrete walls with diamond tools causes no structural damage, requires no patching and is dust free. Some of the common walls sawing applications are: doorways, windows, floor openings and brick or block wall openings.

Chain sawing produces precision cuts without over cutting corners and is transportable through small openings.

Flush cutting lets the operator cut thresholds flush to the floor.

Slab Sawing

Slab Sawing is the cutting of horizontal surfaces with a walk behind concrete saw. Walk behind saws are capable of sawing concrete up to 28” deep or deeper. Some of the common uses for slab sawing are: saw cutting trenches, patching driveways, expansion joints and decorative sawing.

Hydraulic and Propane Slab Sawing

Hydraulic and propane sawing techniques are used primarily for inside cutting where gasoline fumes are a problem (example: hospitals, malls, or office buildings) and they are more suited for tight areas. Some of the common uses are: trench cutting, duct openings and other floor penetrations.

Grinding

Concrete grinding is used mainly for uneven concrete surfaces such as humps in the floor, uneven pours, and raised joints or cracks. It can be performed outside or inside. Our grinders are dust free hydraulics for inside locations and gas powered for outside work locations.

Breaking and Removal

Our removal techniques include normal breaking into pieces & removal or our specialty dust free non-impact demolition where we can cut through & remove whole sections of concrete. This is extremely beneficial for inside locations.

Renovating an existing structure?

One hit while cutting or coring can cost you future work, project delays, and much more.

Gary’s can reduce the chance of hits by up to 90%.

We are now using a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) system to non-destructively explore concrete structures. This technology is much safer than X-rays and can be performed without disturbing surrounding areas or occupants.

GPR works by transmitting pulses of ultra-high-frequency radio waves into the concrete or other material through a transducer or antenna.

The transmitted energy is reflected from buried objects or evident contacts between different materials or voids. The antenna then receives the reflected waves and stores them in the digital control unit. GPR can reach depths of up to 24” in concrete.
